Condition

The colour is darker, more natural and attractive in reality than in the photograph. There is attractive detail to painted decoration. There is nice cracquelure. Old minor marks, chips and scratches. There are hairline and construction cracks generally, with a vertical crack down the left side. There are also gaps around moulding at the base, which will need to be filled. There is evidence of old worm, which is no longer active. Old minor restorations. The inside of the fall-front and recess has been covered in modern faux red leather. The drawers flanking the fall-front are stained black inside and out. The moulded top edge of right and left small drwer flanking the fall-front are missing as visible from the photograph and will need to be restored. The mouldings at the base of both the left and right sides of the upper section are off but present, but can easily be refixed. The long drawers are stiff and need easing. There is evidence of green paint beneath the faux bois. The cabinet is in need of some attention.
