  • 186.5cm. high, 86.5cm. wide, 48cm. deep; 6ft. 1½in., 2ft. 10in., 1ft. 7in.
in the Sheraton style, crossbanded in tulipwood, the pair of doors enclosing two adjustable shelves with four drawers below, the secretaire drawer with four small drawers and pigeonhole above a cupboard door enclosing four drawers

A secretaire cabinet of similar form is illustrated in  Christopher Claxton Stevens and Stewart Whittington, 18th Century English Furniture, The Norman Adams Collection, p.216, pl.21.

 

A cabinet with a base section similar to the offerd lot is shown illustrated in Ralph Edwards, The Dictionary of English Furniture, Vol. 1 page 156, fig.76 and Sheraton gives `a New Design of a Lady`s Secretary and Cabinet ' of 1794 which includes such a drawer in the appendix.
