early 18th century
the cavetto cornice revealing pigeon holes concealing an arrangement of secret drawers, the fall-front writing surface with interior baize lined hinged panel, enclosing a fitted interior with an arrangement of twenty-one drawers centred by a pair of doors, enclosing a bank of five drawers with a secret compartment to the rear of one side revealing further small drawers, the open recess above the writing surface with a sliding well panel, the lower part on later bun feet, the back of all interior drawers to the upper section with original ink manuscript paper labels recording their position
