  • 23cm. high, 56cm. wide, 31.5cm. deep; 9in., 1ft. 10in., 1ft. ½in.
of typical form, the interior with a removeable tray and four secret drawers, with a label for 'N Middleton 162 The Strand, opposite Newcastle Street, pocket book and pencil maker to the King and Prince of Wales', the lid with a brass plate with a coat of arms

Catalogue Note

Nicholas Middleton is recorded as working between 1801-1810. In  July 1801, he supplied the Royal Household with a 'Case for Box seat to the Nabob', costing £1. 16s. and on 27 December 1810, a writing box costing £5 4s. 10d., is recorded in the accounts for 22 January 1812 [Windsor Royal Archives, 88916, 89031].
