Catalogue Note

Elizabeth Howard was the daughter of Theophilus Howard, 2nd Earl of Suffolk.  On 1st October 1642 she married, as his second wife, Algernon Percy, 4th Earl of Northumberland.  The present work derives from the version in the collection of Malcolm Rogers.  Other versions are recorded at Blickling Hall, Highclere Castle, and formerly in the Craven Collection.
