Catalogue Note

The residence of Rosalie and Matthew Weinstein was one of the largest interior commissions designed by Vladimir Kagan.  From the early 1950s to the mid 1990s, Kagan produced furniture and interior treatments for their modernist home in Merion, Pennsylvania.  The works offered here represent a selection of the earliest pieces from the interior.  All of the works were made specifically for this interior and some are custom designs created to incorporate their taste and collections.  Additional works from the interior will be offered in the March 31, 2007 auction of 20th Century Decorative Arts.
