A Chechaouen silk embroidered 'star' roundel, Rif Mountains, Morocco

Please see footnote to lot 72 in this sale.  This 'star' roundel probably formed the central motif in the group of three; the outer 'stars' usually have a dense overall pattern, whilst the central 'star' has a more open and elaborate interlace design.  Please also see Sotheby's London, lot 1, 12th October 2005, for another Chechaouen roundel, also probably the central motif.
