Joan Kahr, Edgar Brandt Master of Art Deco Ironwork, New York, 1999, p. 160, for an illustration of the `L'Oasis' screen which was exhibited in Brandt's stand at the 1925 Exposition des Arts Décoratifs et Industriels Modernes. Wrought from iron and brass, this screen has stylistic affinities to the present lot, with wrought iron medallions cast with stylised motifs which are close in both design and decorative usage.
