Like his famous father, Charles Henri Joseph Cordier (1827-1905) Henri was interested in portraying indigenous people from around the world. Early in his career he exhibited two plaster busts of Eskimos at the Salon in 1878, which are now in the collections of the Anthropology Laboratory of the Musée de l'homme in Paris. Another edition of this Eskimo featured recently in an exhibition of works by his father Charles, see Charles Cordier exhibtion catalogue, p.21.
