LITERATURE AND REFERENCES

This records Barye's initial composition for one of the two facades of the monument to commemorate the July revolution of 1830, and dates to around 1836. The first bronze edition appeared in 1876. A cast by the Henry Bronze CO. foundry, New York was sold in Sotheby's London, 22nd of May 1996, lot 14.
