Description
signed and dated Samuel Henning Sculpt 1827, plaster, within glazed rosewood frames
Little is known about Samuel Henning, though he is probably the father of John Henning (1771-1851), the sculptor who was popular in the 19th century for reproducing copies of the Parthenon frieze, which he subsequently made into small commerical editions in plaster.
