A cabinet of similar form sold in these rooms, Applied Arts from 1880, 29th March 1996, lot 243.

It is unusual to find a Bugatti cabinet with painted panels by Ricardo Pellegrini, who more usually worked in oil on canvas.  For examples of his work in conforming frames see Sotheby's New York, 19th Century European Art, 26th October 2004, lots 10 and 11.
