the central open mirrored shelf flanked by pewter and brass inlaid vellum doors with an embossed copper roundel above a painted oriental scene, one enclosing shelves, the other a shelf and three drawers, above a further open shelf with an arched pierced apron, the four columnar supports joined by a lower tier, the sides with further painted vellum panels and inlaid copper roundels

It is unusual to find a Bugatti cabinet with painted panels by Ricardo Pellegrini, who more usually worked in oil on canvas. For examples of his work in conforming frames see Sotheby's New York, 19th Century European Art, 26th October 2004, lots 10 and 11.
