Catalogue Note
In 1890 Mackintosh was awarded the Alexander 'Greek' Thomson Travelling Scholarship which allowed him to visit Italy the following year. The last entry in the diary of Mackintosh's Italian Tour indicates that he left Milan for Pavia on the 9th July 1891.
