The design of this piece incorporates an interesting and diverse set of influences:  the camaieu field is in the tradition of 19th century Aubusson carpets, whereas the stylised flowers are reminiscent of Secessionist art and  the 'shard' infill and stepped sunrise motifs are typically Art Deco; however, the spohisticated colour scheme ensures a harmonious whole.
