Description

of flattened baluster form, the neck flanked by a pair of handles, each comprised of a mythical beast and inverted dragon head grasping a 'flaming pearl' in their mouths, the main body carved with a continuous figural scene depicting a scholar reclining at the base of a prunus tree reading a book with a nearby boy playing the flute while sitting on a buffalo next to a peasant carrying bundles of firewood, with birds flying above, the reverse with three monkeys picking fruit from a peach tree next to a spotted deer, all amid bamboo, willow and lingzhi  fungus, all between ruyi-head bands, the mouthrim encircled by a keyfret band and pendant leaves, the shoulder with a band of shou characters, the foot with a keyfret band, the amber translucent golden brown in tone, wood stand
