intricately carved to the upper surface with a quatrelobed cartouche enclosing a scene of four warriors on horseback engaged in battle within a mountain landscape beside a military camp with flags fluttering in the wind, a nearby bridge crossing over a river to an island pavilion amid scattered pine and paulownia trees and mountains stretching into the distance under scrolling clouds, all against a dense lotus scroll ground, within a keyfret band, the shaped apron and cabriole square-section legs similarly decorated with lotus scroll, the waist with a wan diaper band,  the underside lacquered black
