Description
each broad square seat resting on square-sectioned legs and braced by a four-part stretcher, the high central backrest supported on either side by openwork rectangular borders meeting the dragon-shaped arms, finely decorated with flower and bird designs in the qiangjin technique with the etched outlines filled with gold, and tianqi (filled in) technique with varying shades of red, green, white and brown lacquer, against a honey-orange ground, to one seat with two magpies perched on a gnarled leafy peach branch bearing seven fruit, the other with a pair of magpies with a flowering peony plant, the armrests with Buddhist Emblems amid cloud scrolls
