Description
each of globular form resting on a slightly flared foot, the exterior exquisitely decorated with a panel enclosing a continous figural landscape scene in puce enamel, one teapot depicting a mother and child seated at a table behind partially open screens, with two young court ladies walking on the terrace, the other side with a different mother and child scene, and two boys at play outside, set amid jagged rockwork issuing lush flowers and trees, with a calm rippling lake and rolling hills in the distance, the other teapot decorated with a European scene of celestial figures and cherubs engaged in leisurely pursuits, with a lion reclining behind a lady, all within a lake setting surrounded by dense vegetation and a splashing waterfall, with large clouds in the clear blue distance, both scenes framed by twisted borders reserved on a vivid yellow-ground with dense scrolling foliage and lotus blooms, all between blue keyfret bands at the neck and foot, the foot of the latter teapot encircled with a ruby-ground floral scroll, the spout gently curving upwards, the loop handle emerging from a border of pendant lappets, the domed cover decorated with a band of scrolling foliage on yellow-ground between a keyfret and floral border, topped with an ovoid finial, the base inscribed with the mark jing hua tang zhi in blue enamel
