Description
the interior decorated in characteristic qiang jin technique with incised and gilt outlines, on the interior with a writhing scaly five-clawed dragon in pursuit of a flaming pearl, highlighted with an iridescent shine, flying amidst ruyi-shaped swirling clouds and above turbulent crested waves, surrounded by the bajixiang in the cavetto, the exterior lotus flowers alternating with pomegranate and peach on a meandering leafy stem, all against a rich red ground, the base incised with the mark Da Ming Wanli yiwei nianzhi (corresponding to 1595)
