the exterior intricately carved and pierced with a continuous figural scene depicting a man observing a lady writing at a desk in an elaborate pavillion with a servant approaching carrying refreshment, all set within a terraced garden, with bamboo, banana, paulownia and pine scattered amid rockwork and around a lotus pond on which two ducks swim
