A Lavar Kirman prayer rug, Southeast Persia,

Please see Hali, Special Anniversary Edition, November/December 1988, Issue 42, p. 10 (advertisement) for a 'Ravar Kerman' rug of closely related design, although with only one rabbit on each side rather than the pairs of rabbits we see in the example offered here.  This piece has the intense and vibrant colours associated with Lavar Kirman weaving of the second half of the 19th century, exemplified in the glowing orange-yellow of the quinces and purple of the hanging blossoms.
