  • the tazza 18cm., 7in.
each piece finely gilt with the coat-of-arms of the Vane-Stewart family within elaborate formal panels of scrollwork, comprising: a tazza and four ten-sided bowls, covers and oval stands with scalloped rim, star-cut base

The 4th Marquess of Londonderry and thence by descent

Catalogue Note

The arms are those of Frederick William Robert Vane-Stewart, 4th Marquess of Londonderry K.P., Viscount Seaham and Earl Vane (1805-1872).

This part-service compliments the much more famous and extensive English Regency cut-glass armorial service made by the Wear Flint Glassworks for the 3rd Marquess of Londonderry. This service is now in Sunderland Museum and Art Gallery
