Description
- height of the lamp 31cm., 12¼in.
the removable straw-tinted glass cylinder with narrow everted rim applied on the underside with a trailed lattimo thread, applied around the waist with two red glass trailed bands outlined with lattimo threads, the pierced ovoid lamp engraved with scrolling foliage, masks, strapwork and chevrons, applied with three winged caryatids each with with a suspension loop attached to chain spindles and pierced orbs suspended from a pierced domed ceiling rose with large hanging loop above

A similar lamp attributed to Holland but lacking the glass liner, dated to the 17th century, was sold Sotheby's Zurich, 3rd April 1981, lot 78
