crowned crossed batons and D marks and various numerals in red

each painted in the centre with a hunting subject within a circular gilt frame, all reserved on variously patterned gilt grounds

Catalogue Note
The scenes were probably taken from the seventy colour plates in The British Sportsman, engraved by William Samuel Howitt ( 1765-1822), which was published in 1812.
