Description
incised, thrice cancelled crossed swords mark to rear of base, incised model number A.1089 and additional incised mark L.245 to underside of base, twice impressed 'BOTTGER/STEINZEUG', of which one with crossed swords mark, twice impressed numeral 23(?), the underside also inscribed 'Von 55 Ausformungen/ No.10'

modelled by Professor Max Esser, the recumbent beast on a shaped pedestal with its head inclined slightly to its right, incised signature 'M.Esser 1925' to top of base

Although numbered the tenth of an edition of 55, no other examples of this rare model appear to be recorded in the literature.
