the conical bowl set on a hollow quatrefoil knop flanked by mereses above a wide conical foot with folded rim

Catalogue Note

Glasses of this type are illustrated in the sketches of John Greene, dated 1667-1672, who was trading with Allesio Morelli, a Venetian glassmaker. A similar glass is illustrated by L.Bickerton, Eighteenth Century English Drinking Glasses, p.57, pl.27
