Publisher's vellum gilt by The Leighton Straker Bookbinding Co., gilt-lettered spine, gold-stamped bow design after Eric Gill, t.e.g., other edges uncut, in publisher's decorated paper slipcase, in a red half-morocco box.

Catalogue Note

First english edition, this is no. 6 of 100 copies on mould-made paper, signed by joyce.

The edition was limited to 1000 copies, and was based on the second impression of the Odyssey Press edition (1933) with the addition of  appendices: "International Protest" and "Injunction against Samuel Roth", a letter from Joyce to Bennet Cerf with other materials on the court case which lifted the ban on publication, and Pertzhoff's "Bibliography."
