Catalogue Note

This song of farewell between two lovers is the most famous of the last Queen's compositions, written in 1878, while she was still Princess. She attended the jubilee of Queen Victoria of England with her sister-in-law, Queen Kapiolani in 1887, and was evidently entertained enroute by Baldwin’s Boston Cadet Band at a grand reception given by the city of Boston 12 May 1887.
