Catalogue Note

Lorenzo Lyons (1807-1886), a missionary on Waimea, asks Mr. Bishop to pay ten dollars to George Kalaua. Mr. Bishop could be the banker Charles Reed Bishop (1822-1915), who, starting as collector general of customs at Honolulu, formed the firm of Aldrich & Bishop in 1858, which later became the Bank of Bishop.
