Catalogue Note

Benjamin Wyman Parker (1803-1877) and his wife Mary Elizabeth Barker, were missionaries stationed at Kaneohe, Oahu in 1834 and served there for more than thirty years. His journal offers us a vivid view of the missionary life in the Islands, the deaths of parishoners and family members, the arrival of ships, visiting neighboring islands, meetings with townspeople and other missionaries, and personal trials.
