Ioannis Kossos (Tripolis 1822-1873 Athens) was the son of Petros Kossos and brother of Dimitris Kossos, a family of Greek sculptors whose English sitters included Byron, Hastings and Guilford.  Ioannis also carved a replica of the Apollo Belvedere and statues of eminent Greek citizens such as E.Zappas, Rigas Feraios, A.Korais, A.Ypsilantis, Patriarch Gregorius V, I.Kapodistrias, Th.Kolokotronis and K.Mavromichalis.
