Description

  • 13cm., 5in.
each decorated with a manganese border with fleur de lys corners, the central octagonal panel each with a different scene comprising: ten with flowers in urns, three with fruit, four with a single figure, three with figures near a river and seven with an elaborate landscape setting, together with fourteen rim tiles, decorated with stylised floral sprays

Catalogue Note

Although the landscape tiles were attributed to 'De Grieksche A' by C.H. de Jong (Dutch tiles, cat.no. 144), J. Pluis (De Nederlandse Tegel) does not ascribe this type of tile to any factory in particular.
