Catalogue Note

These plates were formerly considered to be Münden, and were published as such in the 1932 Oslo exhibition catalogue. Dr. Manfred Mainz has recently demonstrated that a large group can in fact be attributed to Magdeburg; see M.Puhle (pub.), Die Magdeburger Fayence- und Steingutmanufaktur der Familie Guischard 1756-1839, esp. pp.31ff, and no.130, for a similar plate.
