- impressed crossed swords mark and dot, impressed 'BOTTGER/STEINZEUG' and 62, twice incised L245
- 28.5cm., 11 1/4 in.
modelled by Paul Walther, seated on an oval base with polished side, its tail curled around its body, its face and finely detailed coat polished in places, incised 'PW' cypher to rear of base
Catalogue Note
Louis Clemens Paul Walther (1876-1933) trained at the Meissen manufactory and was active as a modeller from 1906. He attended lectures on animal anatomy at the Dresden Academy in 1913-14, but was largely self-taught as a modeller.
