26.5-cm porcelain dial with Roman numerals, spade hands and sweep seconds, weight driven movement with deadbeat escapement, knife edge suspended gridiron pendulum with brass bob, ebonized case with concave sided top surmounted by a parcel gilt carved eagle, kneeling griffins below the moulded bezel, straight trunk with full columns with gilt capitals and basements, rectangular glazed door, base with a gilt diamond and a lions mask below raised claw feet
