26-cm silvered brass engraved chapter ring with Roman numerals, engine turned gilt centre signed Joh Rettich in Wien, fine steel hands and gilt foliate spandrels, weight driven movement with deadbeat escapement and maintaining power, heavy gridiron pendulum with roller suspension and beat adjustment to the crutch, cherry wood veneered case with moulded top, glass panels to the sides and the rectangular hinged door, rectangular base raised on a moulded plinth
