finely carved, the shield-shaped backrest with double-arched foliate-carved toprail, padded armrests, on incurved carved supports, wave-shaped foliate carved seat rail, on cabriole legs, with light brown velvet upholstery, minor damages to the gilding
Catalogue Note
Martin Delaporte, received Master in 1740, died in 1756. He belonged to a family which worked for Louis XIV at Versailles. Compiègne Martin Delaporte an atelier de menuiserie en meubles at the Rue des Filles-Dieu Saint Sauveur in Paris. He specialised in seat furniture.
