height 12 5/8 in. (32cm)

modelled with Venus and Cupid burning Cupid's arrows at an altar, faint incised B and numeral 7 to the top of the base. Some minor losses and repairs.

The model for this group is illustrated by Émile Bourgeois, Le Biscuit de Sèvres, Vol. II, pl. 43, center. A similar example was sold at Sotheby's, London, June 14, 1988, lot 77.
