A pair of Continental neoclassical walnut, giltwood and ebonized armchairs circa 1820,

each with slightly curved upholstered backrest , the downswept wooden armrests on scrolled supports with lion's head terminals, the seat raised on tapered legs ending in ebonized paw feet.



With paper label stencilled 'S E Nelidow Ambassadeur de Russia, 222, Paris, Stein Roma.

S.E. M. de Nelidow, was Russian Ambassador to the Quirinale in Rome c. 1900.
