Catalogue Note

Which images are real ones, in a world that is increasingly defined in virtual terms? We are so endlessly swiped with images that we can no longer tell whether any given image is hypothetical or dead serious. Paul McCarty makes images that are unambiguous. Unambiguously false. He also supplies the machinery that enables them to proliferate indefinitely. And yet this kaleidoscope gives us a way of knowing false image for what they are.
