Catalogue Note
From the London Series, which is a part of the project Journey to the Surface of the Earth. Begun in 1964, the project consists of selecting a rectangle of the earth's surface and reproducing it in minute detail. Their most ambitious project, the World Series, begun in 1969, involves the reconstruction of 1,000 locations around the world randomly selected by randomly chosen people throwing darts, blindfolded, at a map of the world.
