Catalogue Note

This work has been authenticated by the Josef and Anni Albers Foundation, as relating to a series of phonograph record covers that Albers designed for the music producer Enoch Light.  This particular design was not used; the project is discussed in The Prints of Josef Albers, Appendix B: Record Album Jackets, p.189 ff., and other covers are illustrated.
