"My paintings are about gods, saints, souls, ordinary women, or even me.  All these are in search of a sense for mankind and the living world they are in.  A sense I must keep on searching with passion, until eternity.  But is there an eternity?  I believe so. Eternity is you and I, heaven and earth, past, present and future.  Sometimes it is Jesus Christ, Guanyin and the delicious dumplings in your bowl.  Am I too contradictory? It always seems in conflict with my name 'Shuang.' Still it all ends up in ecstasy."
