A French gilt-brass and walnut quarter striking lantern clock and bracket, late 19th century
7¾-inch twenty-five piece enamel cartouche dial with cockerel cresting and signed for Chs Grottendieck, Bruxelle, the rectangular plated 8-day movement No.1252 with Brocot escapement and striking the hours and quarters on two top mounted bells carried in a leaf cast frame with cockerel finial, the walnut case with elaborate rococo side frets and raised on turned feet; with an ogee moulded wall bracket embellished with gilt-brass rococo leaf and shell mounts
