An unusual small floor standing mahogany regulator, English, 19th century
10¼-inch silvered dial with outer minutes ring calibrated in three minute intervals enclosing a twenty-four hours aperture and a seconds ring calibrated in three second intervals, the hand  revolving once every three minutes, the substantial five pillar 8-day weight driven movement with deadbeat escapement, six-spoke wheels and bolt maintaining power, separately suspended pendulum with beat adjustment at the suspension block, the flat top case with moulded cornice, crossbanded trunk door with shaped top and veneered with well figured wood within an ebony line, the plinth similarly veneered and raised on a possibly associated ogee moulded plinth; with a later wood stand
