4¾-inch liquid compass signed E Dent & Co., London, No. 45881, No.155, gimballed in the square binnacle, the tapered brass top with carrying handle and brass cap to the circular viewing window above a larger front viewing window and two glazed lighting positions to the sides for the shaped candle holder, the base with a hinged door, numbered on the edge and revealing a holder for a spare candle and the gimbal locking mechanism, the rear branded with an arrow and 155
