An attractive French Louis XVI ormolu and marble mantel timepiece, circa 1780

8.5-cm enamel dial with Roman numerals and outside five minute marking, pierced and engraved gilt hands, flat bottomed anchor movement with silk suspended sunburst pendulum, drum case suspended in the upper part of white marble brickwork well surrounded by columns, the annular base with gilt rim raised on turned feet
