A very fine and rare pink gold automatic wristwatch with date and cloisonné enamel dial, made for the king of Saudi Arabia, Universal circa 1955

18k, nickel lever movement, mono-metallic balance, hammer action automatic rotor, dial with cloisonné enamel map of Saudi Arabia with an oil well, aperture for date, outer bezel with Arabic script, circular pink gold case with down-turned lugs, polished chamfered bezel, screw-down case back, case and movement signed.

Universal launched their first cloisonné dialled wristwatch in 1950. This watch was made for Saud ibn Abd al-Aziz (1902-1969), King of Saudi Arabia from 1953-1964.
