Description

19-cm arched dial with matted centre and ringed winding holes, engraved silvered chapter ring with Roman numerals, foliate pierced hands, apertures for date and mock pendulum, cherub spandrels and foliate engraving in the arch bearing the signature John Shaw Holborne,  fusee movement with verge escapement and ring turned knopped pillars, foliate engraved apron and backplate similarly signed, rack striking on a bell and pull quarter repeating on five bells, moulded ebonized case surmounted by a foliate pierced double basket top with shaped carrying handle and urn finials, front and backdoor with cast foliate pierced spandrels, similar frets to the sides, moulded plinth raised on bun feet
