23-cm arched brass dial, silvered engraved chapter ring with Roman numerals, foliate pierced hands, subsidiary seconds and apertures for date, moonphase, moondate and tide in the arch within a well painted surround with a Bacchanal, foliate pierced mask spandrels, signature plate signed Pieter Paulus Amsterdam, levers for strike/silent at 45, play/ not play at 15, three train six pillar anchor movement with Dutch half hour striking on alternating bells playing one of two tunes with 18 hammers on 9 bells or at will, burr walnut veneered case with shaped hood surmounted by a gilt wood atlas and two angels, shaped corniche with foliate carved frets below, break arch glazed door with brass capped columns, canted trunk with long shaped door and oval brass lenticle, moulded base with canted corners raised on ball feet
